Itineraries

The Yacht Angelito has an exceptionally interesting, varied, and harmonic 2-weeks-route: one of the weeks, from Sunday to Sunday, tours with itinerary A, and the following week, also from Sunday to Sunday, with itinerary B.

The itinerary A is possible for 8, 5, and 4 days cruises, and the itinerary B for 8 days, but with the possibility to make it shorter ending on Friday, so 6 days. Additionally, combinations of 11, 12, and 15 days are possible without repeating any visiting points.

Itinerary A

The itinerary A can be offered as 8 days / 7 nights cruise, but also for short cruises of 5 days / 4 nights from Sunday to Thursday or for 4 days / 3 nights from Thursday to Sunday. Important: On Thursday the passengers remaining 8 days on board make the normal program.

Itinerary B

The regular itinerary B is for 8 days / 7 nights but it is possible to end on Friday for a shorter tour of 6 days / 5 nights. This cruise visits the west side of Isabella, while itinerary A goes to the Islands in the central north and the south.

Special combinations

For passengers who seek new alternatives to the traditional cruise of 8 days, we offer the opportunity of tours during 11, 12, or 15 days on board the Yacht Angelito, with the following combination possibilities and without repeating any visit points.

    Activities during the cruise

All Angelito’s itineraries offer a route through the Islands that is varied and captivating. The Little Angelito was one of the first boats doing two weeks on the almost unknown Westside of Isabela; a real pioneer with the back then small ship and brave and adventurous tourists.

This excellent route has proved itself, and it is one of the most harmonious round trips in the market. Our itineraries show not only the maximum facets of the Galapagos; with the shortest possible navigation distances, it permits you to have the most time on the Islands or relax in the quietness of this paradise in the middle of the Pacific.

IMPORTANT: the itineraries and every single activity are strictly approved and controlled by the Galapagos National Park to maintain the balance between conservation and tourism. Of course, we agree with and respect these regulations, so there is no possibility of making changes or offering other activities as those approved during the cruise.

Every day of our cruise offers excursions to the different visit points according to the itinerary: one is in the morning and, after lunch on board and eventually short navigation, the second at a different beautiful place in the afternoon. When programmed, we complete the outings with a snorkeling activity after the hike.

Even if most hikes are easy, a certain fitness level is required. You will have enough time to observe and enjoy, immerse and learn, write notes, and take lots and lots (and more) of pictures.

    Hiking

Every day, there is a morning hike at a visiting point and a second one at a different visiting point in the afternoon. Angelito’s naturalist guide always leads these visits with all the knowledge about Galapagos’ history, flora, and fauna, walking along the hiking paths, over lava fields, along beaches, or in between the bushes, surrounded by unique landscapes and wildlife of each island.

    Navigation

The longer navigations are mainly at night; for the shorter ones after lunch, the Angelito has an ample sun and shadow deck to allow a pleasant and comfortable time. You can also look at our library, with a good selection of books about flora, fauna, and the history of the Galapagos. Enjoy the siesta time and relax, but never forget to look out to the sea because you suddenly may spot dolphins swimming with the boat, a sea turtle, or, with a little bit more luck, whales blowing air out.

    Snorkeling

Specific visiting points also permit us to get to know the Galapagos Islands’ underwater world. On board the Yacht Angelito, we have quality snorkeling equipment available, included in our cruise rates.

If you have never tried snorkeling before, this is the perfect opportunity to try it! To ensure safety, we always have a lifebuoy and a zodiac close.

Our Itinerary does not include diving.

    Landscape Contemplation

One of the unique pleasures of a cruise is waking up with the splash of the sea and the sounds of sea lions; every day, it’s a surprise when opening the window and discover the new place where the Angelito anchors: the geological conditions, the color of the beach, the water of the bay are different, so is its flora and fauna.

After dinner, go to the upper deck of the Angelito to admire the stars and maybe the moon, bright and clear in the darkness, surrounded by nothing.

    Shoreline panga ride

Our zodiac boats from the yacht to the land are comfortable and safe, and you will enjoy the programmed ride to see and spot all the animals living or resting on the shoreline.

Once per week, we go into Mangrove bay: here, marine turtles, rays, Galapagos sharks, and birds live in these remarkable ecosystems. These excursions with quiet observation are unique and incredibly touching.

    When to come?

It is nearly not to believe, but there is no best time to visit the Galapagos! There is always something exciting and unique, and flora and fauna are visible year-round. One of the exceptions is the Waved albatross on Española: if you expect to see them, you have to come between the end of April and the end of December (but maybe you will miss something else).

Two main seasons mark the Galapagos, so the activities of the wildlife and nature are slightly different: the cool and dry season lasts from July through December, and the hot and rainy season goes from January through June.

    Rainy season

A higher season for tourism is from December to April. However, the Galápagos National Park has introduced a 2-week loop for all ships and some other regulations, limiting the number of visitors simultaneously at the same places, so we do not have to expect hordes of people on the visitor sites on the islands.

Generally, the rainy season is from January to mid/end of June. It is less windy; the Panama current brings warm water, and it is a hot, humid tropical climate. Maybe once or twice a day, we have tropical short rain showers during the predominately sunny days,

If you decide to come during these months, you can expect:

        • Warm weather and water temperatures

        • Very interesting flora being much greener and with flowers

        • More observation of insects like spiders, butterflies, grasshoppers

        • The Galapagos albatross returns at the end of April for the nesting season and remains till the end of December

        • It´s the nesting season for marine turtles as well as for land and marine iguanas, and land birds, par example the famous Darwin finches

        • The sky is mostly blue, with attractive white cloud formations, so a favorite season for photographers

        • The water temperature is pleasant for snorkeling

    Garua season or dry season

The dry season, called Garúa season, typically goes from June through December. It is windier because of the South East Trade wind, and the Humboldt current gets more potent; coming from the South with more waves, its cold water is full of plankton, the base of the food chain of all marine life!

Points to take into consideration and what to expect when visiting the Galapagos during these months:

        • The temperature during the day is fresher, with only some misty rain called garúa.

        • The cold Humboldt current brings nutrient and plankton-rich water from the Sout of the continent, so food for marine fauna. It makes it easier to see marine turtles, penguins, and fish. Having plenty of fish, it’s one of the best times to observe seabirds and Galápagos penguins enjoying the feast swimming below the surface.

        • The vegetation is dry and generally without leaves and flowers (called magic silvery).

        • Nearly no insects to see.

        • The Giant Galapagos tortoises return to the Highlands, so you to see many more than at other times of the year.

        • It is nesting season and a baby boom for seabirds and marine mammals like Galapagos sea lions.

        • The albatrosses lay one egg per couple and raises their offspring until December
